This is the king of desert for the people of the impoverished villages of Balochistan. This specific one was photographed in the town/village of Mitthi. This is the means of travel in the rural areas for everything from people carrier to heavy machinery, the Bed Ford engine powered M35 6x6 or 'deuce and a half' of the American soldier is still running and moving all wheels through local ingenuity or 'jugaar' (Read up Nissan's take on this word Jugaar).

Kekra (pronounced as 'Cake-ra') which literally translates to Crab has come to be its name since the chassis is invariably bent due to accidents and so it drive sideways.

In the first pic it says, "Humesha Registan ka Badshah...". Do you know what it says after that? Also I'll be visiting Sindh (specifically Shikarpur) and Lahore this winter. Do you know of any people that would be willing to go 4x4? My friend has a Hilux, a couple Vigos and Cruisers.

These are unbelievably slow so doesn't matter what you put on them. I bet you could balance a lemon on a spoon on top of it when on a good road.

If you look at trucks' rear, they have written in local language about their top speed which the maximum is 60 km/h only. Its usually 40-45 kmh.

Its written Makra'oo. Don't know what it means. Probably something in Balochi.

Yeah, Lahore has one of the best clubs; 4x4 Engaged and others. Not sure about Shikarpur but I'll find someone over there since it is a popular place of hunting. I'll give you their contacts. Just hope they have a plan at your time of arrival.
